Had an absolutely amazing time at Sidmouth Folk Week! This was my first year there but I'm sure it won't be my last! I completely sold out of a fresh batch of CD's, made some much-needed money, and most importantly, played every day from Monday to Friday to hundreds of happy, musical, appreciative, passers by. When I played in the main square they gathered around, up to 60 people at a time, and, several of them told me it was the best music they heard all week! ;) Maybe one day the organizers will invite me to the main stage? For now I feel I made a good musical impression, and managed to enjoy some leisure time by the beach too. With music pouring out from every venue at all hours, sunshine for the last half of the week, and a delicious mint-choc-chip-ice-cream in a chocolate-sugar-cone, it was well worth my visit there! And to give you a real taste of my experience.... Many people video'd me and took pictures. This video popped up on youtube before I had packed down my equipment! I found this a few days later, and with kind permission, the video-er credited me in the description and I posted this on facebook! The two songs here are 'Bury Me Beneath The Willow', composer unknown, and 'Annabelle' by Gillian Welch. Enjoy!
