Saskia Griffiths-Moore is a 26 year old independent English singer-songwriter, known for her pure, clear voice and her nu-folk style repertoire. Previously one of the worlds youngest craniosacral therapists, and practicing on Harley Street, London, in 2014 she left it all behind to move to the West country and pursue a successful career in music.
Starting out as a street performer, she has since been featured 3 times on Sky TV, been awarded Arts Council funding 3 times, put out 2 full original albums (Gentle Heart, Night & Day), and 4 E.P.'s (Gentle Heart Collection, The Presence E.P., and Night and Day E.P., Write Me A Song E.P.).
Saskia's latest record 'Night & Day' received glowing 4 & 5 star reviews in national magazines (RnR & Maverick Magazines), was featured on BBC introducing in London, played over national radio, numerous regional BBC stations, and had a music video premiered over international TV on Sky's 'Keep It Country' channel.
Her growing fanbase is and always has been at the heart of her career, and it shows in her 3 successful crowdfunding campaigns for her various projects. She has toured the country 5 times, with and without her band - selling out large and small venues up across the country and supporting names such as Sally Barker and Steve Knightley.
Frequently compared to Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and Eva Cassidy for her unusually clear vocal tone, Saskia's original songs draw on the genre's of Americana, roots & darker folk music.
After being interviewed on BBC Radio early on in her career (BBCGlos and BBCrb), reviewed in online blogs (Folk-Phenomena, Jelli Records), magazines (The Living Tradition, What's Afoot Magazine) and featured in papers from Gloucestershire to Norfolk, this young singer-songwriter makes an instant and lasting impression on fans and industry figures alike.
Following her debut album tour in early 2016, Saskia embarked on an unusual and successful tour of entirely donation based concerts later that year, which won her her second round of Arts Council funding, as well as generating new fans and new interest in her unorthodox methods.
To date she has been number 1 in Reverbnation's folk chart for Bristol since August 2015, and was nominated for Laurel Canyon Music's Favourite New Artist of 2016 (ranking #7 over all) and Best New Album Of The Year.
2017 saw her touring internationally for the first time, breaking into Belgium, and releasing her second original album (Night & Day) with a new 5 piece folk super group featuring multi award winning players; Ciaran Algar (BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2013, Horizon Award 2014), Lukas Drinkwater (Seth Lakeman, The Levellers, Emily Barker), Jack Cookson (BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Finalist 2016), and Evan Carson (Sam Kelly, Seth Lakeman, PROG Award album of the year with IAmTheMorning), produced by Gareth Young (Sugarbabes).
Following a tour in Scotland in early 2018, Saskia is proud to announce her new endorsement from Steve Agnew Instruments. The rest of the year will see her launching an innovative digital marketing campaign using new technology for fans, as well as recording her second official album of original material in Scotland in the autumn, and taking her music to Portugal for the first time at Costa Del Folk following Show Of Hands.
