THE SWEET FRUITs! The GIFTS! The JOY!
This is my FINAL PAGE telling you my story thus far...and it is a page of sheer celebration, and many gifts!
THANK YOU for sticking with this all the way, it's time now to receive, relax and celebrate!
Recently, things have taken off in my career. After so many years of non stop work, literal homelessness, rejection by Tesco's (remember?), oh and the beer thing? Yikes! But you know what? All in all, it paid off. Life found a way. My music found a way! Enough people were moved to support what I do, and I was able to get to a point where I am self sufficient with it. New people discover my music every day, and join my 'Circle' on facebook.
Here is my happiness list, at the moment!
- I was on TV. National-freaking-television! 23rd December, just after noon. Got booked for a festival in Portugal off the back of that too! Expenses paid and everything ;)
- A major reviewer for a national circular gave me a glowing review (pictured). Can't tell you how much it means to have that level of recognition.
- I toured internationally for the first time thanks to a friend in Belgium!!
- My most recent crowdfunding campaign for my official debut album 'Night and Day' reached it's goal within 10 hours of funding an continued to climb to a whopping £8000! So naturally, I put together a folk super-group consisting of the finest most well know young folk musicians out there in the UK, and for the first time, got proper professional PR. Note, I made the whole project Carbon Neutral too!
- And to top it all off, my gigs are selling out now. There is nothing more satisfying to me than selling out. Shows. Not my soul. Obviously. ;)
But you know what? All this is not separate from the people that I've met, the energy and enthusiasm I have that every seems to comment on, and where I'm at in my life. My WHOLE life. I personally believe that everything is interrelated, and that each phase of this journey was as necessary as the next.
Who knows why I love singing? Why, of all the things on earth, for me, singing is THE most pleasurable, THE most energizing, THE most exciting, creative, fun, joyus, meaningful, moving and mysterious thing of all? The point is, I don't know where this is going. I'm not bothered about fame...a bit of fortune wouldn't go amiss, but I don't have specific goals. It's enough for me to keep exploring my connection to music, and my connection to people.
As you have seen, charity is an all important element in what I do. Without each other, without give and take, we'd have nothing, I'd have nothing.
Health and wellbeing are also central to my work. Who I am offstage is just as important as who I am onstage, and how I spend my time. I believe in promoting wellbeing and using my platform as an artist to also bring a message across.
I'll be damned if I can figure out just what that message is right now. Maybe you can help me discover what it is?

FRIENDS TO THE RESCUE! & Today's freebies!
The music was recorded by Jack Cookson is his house in Plymouth. The video? Well, a director, a friend of a friend, got in touch offering to collaborate on a video. And the man in the silks? After many near misses, Efren Prieto volunteered for the role!
All of us being busy professionals (well, them at least!!), we had ONE DAY scheduled for this project. If it rained? Well, that would be that. If we couldn't get hold of red silks and apparatus to strap it to a tree? Well, that would be that. If Efren had not had enough daring to climb the tree (look how tall it is!!!) with NO security, and set up and then deconstruct the silk apparatus? Well, that would have been that.
But thankfully, it all came together.
With this song, I recorded two more, and release a 3 track single called 'Write Me A Song'.
Here is your copy. For Free.

The other songs show how mixed my emotions were at the time. I was at the end of a relationship and wrote 'The Joy Of Defeat', for anyone who discovers the simple happiness that comes with leaving something toxic behind. No sarcasm, it's a real, bitter-sweet kind of feeling. Well I think so anyway.
And the other one, my darkest song ever 'The Presence', describes the kind of uncertainty I was facing when changing directions. How I wanted to give it all up! And to go forward into something I didn't know, and how this unbearable feeling 'The Presence' went with me everywhere. 'The Presence' is not featured ever again in my music, this is the only time this song comes up, and I rarely sing it, so grab it while you can!

LIVE STREAM - 7pm GMT
Today's live stream features my stars Efren Prieto, Director Benjamin Britworth, and Jack Cookson, and we'll perform both 'The Presence' and 'Write Me A Song' for you live! As well as take Q & A's, tell tasteless jokes, and share a few stories from the lives of my friends.
See you this evening!
Love,
Saskia.
After this was over, I was so humbled by the kindnesses shown to me via busking, crowdfunding, and all my friends pitching in to make this video happen, I wanted to give something back. So I did something radical. Look out for my next email!
P.s. There are only 100 real world copies of my 'Write Me A Song' single on CD with all 3 tracks. If you'd like a signed copy order one quick quick quick! And I'll post it out to you. Note, I will NOT be printing these ever again so you know, last chance and all that! X
