Who am I? And what am I doing here?
I ask myself that a lot. But when it comes to music, I can give you a slightly clearer answer... Since I was 18, I have been an alternative therapist. Health, healing and wholeness have always been driving interests of mine. Still are... I had a practice on Harley Street in London. But a few years on, I had an epiphany one day. And it changed my life in every sense. I closed my practice, moved to Bristol and began busking to make ends meet. You see, I'd very suddenly realised two things at once; that I love music more than anything in this world, and that following your passion is the only thing worth doing. And since then, I haven't lifted a finger to do anything other than music. That was 5 years ago. I'm 27 now. I live to create, to perform, and to share this energy with anyone and everyone. And I love it. |
AND THEN?Once I began busking, things started happening for me.
People offered me so much, and I am forever thankful, especially to the first few people who gave me things I could not give myself. Money, opportunities, support sometimes... I got a band together. I got an album together. I got some money together. Crowdfunded on Kickstarter. I got some PR behind me. Some BBC play, some interviews, some press articles. And I went for it! I just...gave it everything, all the time, and went for it!!! I toured the country 5 times. I got funding from the arts council 3 times. I got on the telly. Six times on Sky TV now. They have a soft spot for me. I put another album out. This time with some well known folk players. And then another. And three albums of covers in between those. And now? |

WHAT NEXT?I have a compact acoustic band, and we tour the folk and acoustic scene year round.
And I am on the way to Abbey Road Studios for the third time to record another album. I've been lucky enough to be endorsed by not one, but two luthiers, Steve Agnew, and JWC Guitars. We are continuing to break county and country borders with our music, and our online community grows by the day. You can join us (for free) here I live to perform. Come and see me live! In a country near you... XX |
